Special Olympics Kern County is a nonprofit organization that empowers individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition. Events like Golf Fore Kids, enables over 850 Kern County athletes to participate in the year round training and athletic competition provided by Special Olympics Kern County.

The Mission and Vision of the Special Olympics:

The mission of Special Olympics Southern California is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

The vision is to promote acceptance, inclusion, and well-being for people with intellectual disabilities through sports.

Golf Fore Kids has raised over $250,000 for Special Olympics since 2008

To date, funds raised through this annual event have gone directly to Special Olympics Kern County, enabling over 850 Kern County athletes to participate in year-round training and athletic competition for free. Our goal is to continue making an enormous difference in the lives of our local Special Olympics athletes by exceeding prior donations!
